Leeds United and West Ham transfer ‘battle’ as former player to return home

The latest Leeds United news and rumours on Friday afternoon.

Leeds United are back in action this weekend and have a tricky test against Chelsea.

The Whites have made a decent start to the new Premier League season and have picked up four points from their opening two matches.

They beat Wolves 2-1 at home on the opening day and drew 2-2 away at Southampton last time out.

Here is a look at the latest news coming out of the club today...

Competition in left-back pursuit?

Leeds have been linked with a potential move to re-sign left-back Charlie Taylor, as reported by journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon.

The defender is currently playing in the Championship with Burnley.

However, according to a report by talkSPORT, West Ham United could now ‘move’ for the Clarets man before the end of the transfer window.

Leeds to carefully manage striker

Jesse Marsch has suggested that Joe Gelhardt won’t be rushed into the action.

The young attacker sat out of the game at Southampton last weekend.

His boss has said, as per the Yorkshire Evening Post: “Joffy was a little bit injured this week. And with a lot of games coming up, we just wanted to make sure that we manage him the right way.”

Former Whites man to return home?

Robert Snodgrass was a hit during his time at Elland Road from 2008 to 2012.

The winger scored 41 goals in 193 appearances before moving to Norwich City.

He is now being linked with a return to Scotland and is wanted by Motherwell, as reported by BBC Sport.
