Leeds United get fresh backing ahead of Aston Villa visit with big call made on Whites attack
Leeds United will resume their Premier League survival bid with Sunday’s visit of Aston Villa.
Leeds United have received fresh backing ahead of Sunday’s Premier League visit of Aston Villa with a big call made on the Whites attack.
Daniel Farke’s fifth-bottom Whites will resume their survival bid with Sunday’s visit of highflying Villa who have won eight of their last ten in league or cup.
Five wins from Villa’s last six Premier League games have propelled Unai Emery’s side into sixth place - just two points behind third-placed Chelsea and only four adrift of second-placed Manchester City.
The bookies have consequently made Villa favourites for Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at fifth-bottom Leeds who resume action after the November international break sat just one point clear of the dropzone.
Villa, though, are not particularly strong favourites, the bookies issuing fresh Leeds backing in making Farke’s side only marginally bigger than 2-1 to beat Villa and odds-on at 3-5 to bag either three points or one.
Villa are favourites with every firm - some of whom have Emery’s side as short as 6-5 - but the visitors can be backed at 29-20.
Big call made on Whites attack
In a fairly close market, Leeds are as short as 19-10 with some firms and no bigger than 43-20 whilst the draw is on offer at 47-20.
In a strong Whites attack call, Whites trio Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha are also second, third and fourth in the first scorer market behind Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
Watkins is the clear 11-2 favourite to score first but Calvert-Lewin and Piroe are not far behind at 7s and only just ahead of Nmecha at 8s.
All three Whites men are ahead of Villa stars Morgan Rogers and Donyell Malen who are both 17-2 - the same price as no goalscorer - and three more Whites attackers are next in Noah Okafor (9s), Dan James (10s) and Willy Gnonto (11s).
