Boss Unai Emery has provided his Aston Villa team news for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Leeds United at Elland Road,
An Aston Villa star is facing a late check for Sunday’s Premier League clash at Leeds United for which an experienced teammate is also definitely out.
Villa quartet Ezri Konsa, Matty Cash, Amadou Onana and Lamare Bogarde all picked up injuries whilst away on international duty although boss Unai Emery has declared Konsa, Cash and Bogarde as fit to face the Whites.
Belgian international midfielder Onana, though, says Emery, faces a late check, the Villa boss also confirming that experienced England-capped centre-back Tyrone Mings is definitely out with his hamstring injury.
“We will see tomorrow if he can play”
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Emery was asked if Konsa, Onana, Cash and Bogarde would be available to play and said: "They are training. Amadou is the only player who we will see tomorrow if he can play.
“Today, the last players joined with us after playing, performing for their national teams. Normally, we give them two days off after their last match playing there.
“The only player ruled out for Sunday is Tyrone Mings. And other players, tomorrow we’ll train, the last training session, normally, it could be everyone available.”
Right back Andres Garcia has been another Villa player out of late, the 22-year-old Spaniard having been nursing an injury and yet to feature this season.
Recently returned to training, it was thought he would need a few weeks to build fitness.
