Leeds United left it late to take a point against Liverpool on Saturday, twice coming from behind to draw 3-3 inside an electric Elland Road. The Whites found themselves 2-0 down inside 50 minutes before a Dominic Calvert-Lewin penalty and Anton Stach’s rifled effort restored parity.
Dominik Szoboszlai put Liverpool back ahead shortly after but there was one more twist to come, with Ao Tanaka at the back post to finish a back-post corner and earn a big point. Stach took that corner and following another excellent midfield performance, has been named in Troy Deeney’s Premier League Tea of the Week for BBC Sport.
Deeney said of the Leeds midfielder: “He was the player who stood out for Leeds in their draw with Liverpool. The visitors were obviously cruising but I look at players and teams in that moment and look at who is hiding. This guy turned it up - not only a notch but another 10 notches - scored a goal and got an assist.”
