Leeds United's post-Brighton match plan and request to supporters at Elland Road for home finale

Leeds United play their final home game of the Premier League season with the Elland Road visit of Brighton today.

Leeds United have made a request to supporters attending today’s final home game of the Premier League season against Brighton to coincide with the squad’s post-game appreciation and celebration plans.

Daniel Farke’s Whites face highflying Brighton in a 3pm kick-off today in the season’s final game at Elland Road, ahead of which United’s top-flight status is already secured.

Leeds were made mathematically safe from relegation by Arsenal’s 1-0 win at West Ham last Sunday which secured United’s Premier League survival with three games left.

Six days on from Monday night’s 1-1 draw at relegation-battling Tottenham Hotspur, Leeds are now asking fans attending today’s home finale at Brighton to stay in their seats after the full time whistle ahead of the players returning to the pitch for a lap of appreciation.

‘One by one where they will be joined by their families’

A statement from Leeds United read: “Following the conclusion of Leeds United’s final home fixture of the Premier League campaign on Sunday against Brighton & Hove Albion, supporters are asked to remain seated after the full-time whistle.

“To thank our fantastic fans for their loyal throughout the season, the first-team squad and staff members will do a lap of appreciation as they show their gratitude to everyone who has travelled up and down the country to cheer the team on.

“After the full-time whistle, the players will go back to the changing rooms briefly, before being announced onto the pitch one by one where they will be joined by their families, similar to last season’s celebrations after the Bristol City match.

“Thank you for your continued support. Marching on Together.”
