Leeds United are in Carabao Cup action on Wednesday night with a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on the cards. Daniel Farke’s side are yet to taste defeat this season, taking five points from three Premier League games and progressing in the cup against Nottingham Forest.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Brighton was earned without Joe Rodon, who suffered a serious hamstring injury against Brentford, but his absence was eased through the return of Gabriel Gudmundsson. Deadline day arrivals Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo were ready for a place on the bench but no debut as yet.
Midweek hosts Chelsea also have a few injury issues to manage, most notably surrounding Moises Caicedo who missed Sunday’s defeat at Arsenal. Below, the YEP round up all the latest injury and team news from both sides ahead of Wednesday’s cup clash.

1. OUT: Jordan Henderson
The experienced midfielder made the shock switch from Brentford to Chelsea in the summer but is yet to feature. Still some way off as well, following his broken arm while celebrating England's World Cup victory over Mexico. | Getty Images

2. DOUBT: Moises Caicedo
Caicedo has missed much of the early season due to a knock, returning off the bench against Brighton earlier this month but lasting just 14 minutes. He missed Sunday's defeat to Arsenal, with head coach Alonso insisting he will not rush the midfielder back. | AFP via Getty Images

3. DOUBT: Marco Palestra
£47m summer signing Palestra is yet to feature this season due to an unspecified injury, with Alonso rarely providing any clarity on when he expects a return. The right-back recently told Italian media he expects to be back on the grass soon. | Getty Images

4. DOUBT: Levi Colwill
The defender was a surprise absence from the starting-XI at Arsenal on Sunday, with Alonso revealing a 'little' issue forced him into a decision. The fact Colwill was still on the bench suggests his issue is not serious but it remains to be seen if Wednesday comes too quick.

5. OUT: Mateo Joseph
Joseph's Mallorca loan last season was cut short by a serious knee injury and he's expected to still be some way off recovering. Farke also suggested recently there will be no place in future plans for those who weren't used in the previous campaign, albeit the Spanish youth international was named in Leeds' official 25-man Premier League squad last week, | Rafa Babot/Getty Images

6. OUT: Joe Rodon
Rodon suffered a hamstring injury while chasing down a long ball against Brentford and Farke confirmed a near worst case scenario last week. The Welshman is facing eight to 10 weeks out with a serious injury, a huge blow for Leeds. | Getty Images
