Crystal Palace eye former Leeds United youngster with £20m-plus price tag and new keeper on way to Hull City

A former Leeds United youngster is on the radar of potentially key Premier League rivals.

Crystal Palace are interested in signing a former Leeds United youngster who now has a £20m-plus price tag, a player who is also a potential target for Brighton.

England youth international defender Charlie Cresswell came through United’s Academy before progressing to the first team only to find game time limited amid competition for the centre-back spots.

Cresswell then ended over a decade with Leeds when joining French outfit Toulouse in July 2024 for a fee thought to be in the region of £3.8m.

Now 23 years old, Creswell’s stock has risen considerably since and Brighton saw a bid of €23m rejected by Toulouse in the January transfer window.

It has already been reported this summer that the Seagulls could go back in for Cresswell although Brighton are set to sign another centre-back from Leeds in the shape of Pascal Struijk.

Sky Sports, though, claim that Creswell is also of interest to Crystal Palace who could look to sign him ahead of the new 2026-27 Premier League campaign.

Palace finished two points below Leeds last season in 15th place.

Elsewhere on the transfers front, United’s new Premier League rivals Hull City are set to sign an England-capped new keeper to replace their outgoing no 1.

Sky Sports are reporting that the club’s Croatia international keeper Ivor Pandur is set to join Rangers in a deal worth £6m.

England-capped 33-year-old stopper Jack Butland is then set to move the other from Rangers to Hull in a separate deal for £3m.

Elsewhere, United’s Premier League rials Nottingham Forest are a step closer to losing their star man Elliot Anderson who has now passed his medical ahead of a record-breaking £116m move to Manchester City.

City have also now appointed Enzo Marcesa as the club’s new manager, replacing the outgoing Pep Guardiola.
