Upcoming Leeds United Premier League opponents hit by star man injury blow with boss admission

Upcoming Leeds United Premier League opponents have suffered a star man injury blow.

Leeds United’s next Premier League opponents Crystal Palace have been hit by an injury blow to a star man who is now needing further assessment.

Leeds now face a break from their quest for Premier League survival with Sunday’s FA Cup fifth round hosting of Norwich City, after which the Whites face a trip to south London the following weekend to take on Palace.

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles had been directly above Leeds in the Premier League table but Palace took a huge leap towards more or less taking themselves out of the relegation battle equation with Thursday night’s 3-1 win at troubled Tottenham.

“In a brace, we'll do further assessments”

Palace, though, who were already without Jean-Philippe Mateta (knee), Eddie Nketiah (hamstring), Cheick Doucoure (knee) and the suspended Maxence Lacroix, were dealt a fresh injury blow during the match as wing back star Daniel Munoz was forced off early in the first half.

Providing an update on the Colombian post-match, Munoz told Crystal Palace's official website: “It was his shoulder. Right now, his arm is in a brace, we'll do further assessments.

"He says it doesn't feel so bad, but a shoulder [issue] is always tricky – hopefully not too long.

“We had to make a substitution after 15 minutes. Dani Muñoz had to leave and Nathaniel Clyne, he also didn't play for many games now, so it was a completely new back three [with Chadi Riad and Jaydee Canvot], five, but they did really well all together.”
