"Miss this" - Oliver Glasner's update on key Crystal Palace man for Leeds United visit amid triple boost
Oliver Glasner has provided Crystal Palace team news ahead of Sunday’s visit of Leeds United.
Crystal Palace have received a triple boost ahead of Sunday’s Leeds United visit but a star who is working hard to be fit for the game remains out.
Palace have not played since last Thursday evening’s 3-1 Premier League victory at troubled Tottenham Hotspur, the Eagles then having a weekend off by virtue of being out of the FA Cup.
Palace, though, who host Leeds on Sunday in a 2pm kick-off at Selhurst Park, face a busy end to the week with Oliver Glasner’s side at home to AEK Larnaca on Thursday in a Europa Conference League tie.
Glasner has now provided his team news ahead of the game, the Eagles boss giving news of a triple boost in having Jean Philippe Mateta and Jefferson Lerma back from injury and Maxence Lacroix returning from suspension.
Star wing back Daniel Munoz, though, remains out, the Colombian forced off with a shoulder injury in the early stages of Thursday’s win at Tottenham.
Glasner, though, says Munoz is working hard to be fit for Sunday’s visit of Leeds.
“Will miss this game. He’s working hard”
“We have players coming back,” said Glasner at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, as quoted by Crystal Palace’s official website.
“Maxence [Lacroix] is back [from his one-match suspension], and can play tomorrow.
“Jeff Lerma was already in the squad [after a four-game absence with injury] at Tottenham, but we could rest him. He is fine.
“JP [Mateta] started to train with us on Monday this week, and he will be in the squad. Everything goes in the right direction.
“Daniel Muñoz will miss this game. He’s working hard with our medical staff to be ready for the Leeds game.
“All the others are fine, in good shape, and looking forward to tomorrow’s game.”
Of Mateta, Glasner added: “No [he is not ready for 90 minutes] – he didn’t train for five or six weeks on the pitch, and he’s now back for three days, so no chance [of 90 minutes].
“But it’s good to have him back. He showed in training he’s always able to create chances, score goals, and that’s why it’s good to have him back.”
