Leeds United double as officials are named for Crystal Palace clash with past Eagles match reminder

News of the officials selected for Leeds United’s return to Premier League action at Sunday’s hosts Crystal Palace.

A Leeds United double is on the table upon the officials being named for Sunday’s return to Premier League action at Crystal Palace.

Daniel Farke’s Whites will resume their battle for Premier League survival with Sunday’s 2pm kick-off at Selhurst Park, four months on from United’s 4-1 win against the Eagles in the reverse fixture at Elland Road.

Sheffield-based official Thomas Bramall refereed the December 20 clash at Elland Road and Bramall will again take charge of Sunday’s match in South London which presents Leeds with the chance to notch a quick double against a close rival under the same referee.

Two wins, one draw and one defeat from four games in charge

Palace booted nicely clear of the Premier League dropzone with last Thursday night’s 3-1 win at Tottenham Hotspur which took them ten points clear of third-bottom West Ham.

The Eagles, though, are only two positions higher than 15th-placed Leeds in the Premier League table who sit seven points behind Glasner’s side.

Bramall has only refereed four games involving Leeds so far during his career, those contests producing two Whites wins, one draw and one defeat - the sole loss also arriving earlier this season through October’s 2-1 defeat at home to Tottenham.

Bramall only dished out four yellow cards in December’s win against Palace at Elland Road, Eagles trio Marc Guehi, Maxence Lacroix and Adam Wharton all booked in addition to United keeper Lucas Perri.

Lee Betts and Mat Wilkes have been named as the assistant referees for Sunday’s game for which Paul Tierney is the fourth official.

James Bell will be on VAR, assisted by Craig Taylor.
