Leeds United team news for today’s fifth round FA Cup clash at home to Norwich City is in.
Whites boss Daniel Farke has made nine changes to his Leeds United team for Sunday afternoon’s fifth round FA Cup clash against Championship outfit Norwich City at Elland Road.
Captain Ethan Ampadu and left back Gabi Gudmundsson are the only men to stay in the side that started Tuesday evening’s 1-0 defeat at home to Premier League visitors Sunderland.
The nine changes which leads itself to a brand new front line see keeper Lucas Perri, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Jaka Bijol, Ao Tanaka, Sean Longstaff, Dan James, Willy Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Lukas Nmecha all come into the side.
Striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is among the nine to drop out but Calvert-Lewin and also Joe Rodon are not involved as Facundo Buonanotte and Sam Byram move on to the bench.
Farke confirmed at Friday’s pre-match press conference that winger Noah Okafor remained the sole Leeds player out injured.
Okafor injured his hamstring in the fourth round FA Cup clash at Birmingham City in the middle of last month and the winger was expected to be looking at two to four weeks out.
Okafor apart, Farke said on Friday that he was optimistic of having every other player available to pick from but with the usual caveat of taking no unnecessary risks due to the bid for Premier League survival remaining the obvious priority.
The Whites boss made eight changes to his team for the third round clash at Derby County and then six alterations to his side for the fourth round trip to Birmingham City.
Today’s clash comes at the end of a busy week, Leeds taking in their third game at Elland Road in the space of nine days following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City and Tuesday night’s loss to Sunderland by the same score.
Leeds have a week off after today’s game, the Whites resuming their Premier League survival bid with next Sunday’s clash at Crystal Palace.
