Every word Daniel Farke said on Harry Wilson injury, Dominic Calvert-Lewin England call-up & Leeds United vs Crystal Palace

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke will speak to the media this afternoon ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Crystal Palace at Elland Road.

Leeds United host Crystal Palace this weekend and ahead of that Premier League clash, Daniel Farke will speak with the media today.

The Whites will look to continue their excellent start to the season on Sunday, having avoided defeat in four league games so far. Farke’s side beat Newcastle United 4-1 last time out on Monday, producing arguably their most complete performance of the campaign.

Weekend opponents Palace have endured a more difficult opening few weeks, their sole victory coming against Fulham. Pierre Sage’s side have lost their other three Premier League games but did beat Lech Poznan 4-0 in the Europa League on Thursday.

The hope is that any injury updates this afternoon will be brief, with Joe Rodon a known absence but no other obvious issues. Ilia Gruev played his first football in five months for the Under-21s last week and could be back available in a first-team capacity.

Leeds didn’t appear to have picked up any fresh issues during Monday’s dominant win, with Gabriel Gudmundsson’s discomfort down to cramp. Should any problems have surfaced in training, Farke will be sure to update us today.

Sunday’s Elland Road meeting is the final Premier League clash for Leeds before the first international break of the campaign, with Thomas Tuchel naming his England squad this morning. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Trafford were called up but Jayden Bogle and James Justin missed out.

Farke gave his backing to the likes of Calvert-Lewin and Bogle after Monday’s win over Newcastle, while Justin and Trafford were also hopeful. Expect questions on those who made the squad and what the Leeds boss makes of those who missed out.

There could also be more general questions on the international break and what Farke has planned for those not heading off to represent their countries. It’s an unusually long three-week period without domestic football for Leeds’ non-international players and it will take some managing.

Finally, Farke will be given the chance to share his thoughts on weekend opponents Palace, who have endured a slow start to the campaign under new boss Sage. The Leeds manager will no doubt have positive things to say about Sunday’s opponents and the threat he knows they possess.

Daniel Farke will hold his pre-Crystal Palace press conference at 1.30pm. Stay tuned for live updates...
