'Thank God' - Leeds United attacker injury update revealed as team news emerges for Crystal Palace clash
Daniel Farke has provided an update on three injured Leeds United players.
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has delivered an update on the injury status of key attacker Daniel James ahead of Saturday's game against Crystal Palace.
The Whites welcome the side sitting fifth in the Premier League for an 8pm kick-off at Elland Road, just 48 hours after Palace play in the Europa Conference League. Farke will still be without James, who suffered a hamstring tendon injury and has sat out the last three games. But the Welsh international will not need to go under the knife, which would have sidelined him for even longer than the initial timescale.
Farke will not welcome anyone else back for the Palace game.
"No surgery, thank God it's a conservative route but still eight weeks total before he can return to team training, then let's see how quickly he's back to full speed," said Farke.
"Sean [Longstaff] is progressing in his rehab and doing individual stuff on the pitch, running stuff and with the ball. The first step will be to reintegrated to team training. It will last a bit. We decide from day to day and game to game. Lukas Nmecha is still out, he's still a bit symptomatic so it's the same group of players."
Palace boss Oliver Glasner has vowed that he will not start a single player at Elland Road who began the game against KuPs at Selhurst Park on Thursday night in Europe.
