Daniel Farke message for Leeds United's fans after defeat to Wrexham in America and season hope

A message from boss Daniel Farke to Leeds United’s fans after defeat in the first friendly in America to Wrexham.

Daniel Farke had a message for Leeds United’s fans after seeing his team lose their first friendly in America to Wrexham together with a new season hope.

Leeds have travelled all the way to the USA for their pre-season tour but Farke’s side were still cheered on by brilliant travelling support in the weekend’s first friendly against Wrexham at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

United’s supporters ultimately saw their team fall to a 3-2 defeat, after which Farke hailed his team’s fans as second to none and the best in the world.

The Whites boss admitted he was disappointed at being unable to give those fans more to cheer about in Tampa but the sheer level of support is something Farke is particularly keen to please with a successful second season back in the Premier League.

“The best in the world and really second to none”

“Unbelievable. So, this club is really second to none,” said Farke to LUTV of the club’s fans.

“And for that, I am a bit disappointed that we couldn’t give them for their great support also even a bit more to cheer.

"But even after the game, they were in a good mood and celebrate more or less like winning the Championship title over a year ago and the fantastic season that we finished just a few weeks ago.

"They were celebration mode and for that we even did a bit of a wave after the game and they fully deserve it.

“Our supporters are the best in the world and really second to none.

“It is a joy to work for this massive club and to make them hopefully happy with better results and also hopefully a successful season.”
