"Decided to let him" - Club statement as Leeds United youngster returns to Whites after loan spell
A Leeds United youngster has returned to the Whites after a loan spell.
Young Leeds United keeper Darryl Ombang is heading back to the Whites after a player’s injury return.
Ombang, 20, an England youth international, had featured in Premier League 2, the Vertu Trophy and the Premier League International Cup so far this season for Scott Gardner’s Under-21s.
Capped at England under-17s level, the keeper then joined National League North side Darlington on a youth loan at the end of last month and Ombang quickly racked up five appearances for the Quakers for whom fellow keeper Peter Jameson was out injured.
‘We have decided to let him return to Leeds’
Jameson, though, has now returned from his injury, leading to Ombang’s loan spell being ended.
A statement from Darlington read: “Keeper Daryll Ombang has returned to his parent club Leeds United following the return of Peter Jameson after injury.
“Daryll played five matches for us during Pete's absence, and because we can only name five loan players on the teamsheet, we have decided to let him return to Leeds.
“We'd like to thank him for his services, and wish him all the best in the future. We'd also like to thank Leeds United for their co-operation.”
