David Moyes makes "sure" Leeds United declaration before Everton test with Dominic Calvert-Lewin admission

David Moyes has issued his Leeds United verdict ahead of Monday night’s clash against his Everton side.

David Moyes has delivered plentiful Leeds United praise ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash against his Everton side with a Whites signings verdict and Dominic Calvert-Lewin admission.

Moyes’ Toffees will face Leeds for the second time this season in Monday’s 8pm kick-off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, five months on from August’s 1-0 victory for Daniel Farke’s Whites in the reverse fixture at Elland Road.

Leeds hosted Everton in their first game back in the Premier League following their promotion as Championship champions which Moyes felt already showed that United had a good side.

That good side, says Moyes, has now “for sure” been strengthened with the club’s new signings so far this season, the Everton boss full of praise for Daniel Farke’s side and the impact of ex-Toffees striker Calvert-Lewin.

England-capped forward Calvert-Lewin ended nine years with the Toffees when leaving the club as his contract expired in the summer before joining Leeds as a free agent signing.

The 28-year-old has since bagged nine goals in 20 appearances for the Whites including eight from his last ten games and Moyes admits the striker has certainly got his fitness back en route to hitting the goals trail.

“That’s for sure”

Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Moyes was asked what sort of test Leeds would present and the form of Calvert-Lewin and said: “I think Leeds United have got a good team. I think they had at the start of the season.

"I watched them quite a lot last year in the Championship and they played really well and they were getting promoted.

"They've added to it, they've strengthened, that's for sure and I think Leeds are a good team and certainly in good form at the moment.

"We look forward to seeing Dom. We just weren't able to quite make things work in whether it was us to keep him or whether it was Dom to stay, one or the other, but he's certainly got his fitness back and he's scoring goals.”
