Leeds United’s solid defensive record laid solid foundations for their successful push for promotion into the Premier League last season as Daniel Farke’s side conceded just 30 goals in 46 Championship fixtures.
Despite that impressive record, the Whites still targeted several defenders and a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window and that led to the arrival of Brazilian stopper Lucas Perri, full-backs Gabriel Gudmundsson and James Justin and centre-backs Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw.
However, the step up in class of opposition has proven difficult for the Whites and they head into the third international break of the season sitting just above the Premier League relegation zone after Sunday’s loss at Nottingham Forest meant they have conceded 20 goals in 11 games.
