Dominic Calvert-Lewin on what Leeds United can do in Premier League in crazy Liverpool verdict with 'proof'

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s penalty and general presence helped Leeds United to an amazing 3-3 draw against Liverpool.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin issued a crazy Leeds United verdict with Whites ‘proof’ after Saturday’s thrilling 3-3 draw against champions Liverpool at Elland Road.

Calvert-Lewin overcame pre-match concerns about calf problems to start Saturday evening’s visit of the Reds whop looked on course for victory leading 2-0 via a quickfire Hugo Ekitike brace after the break.

Leeds, though, produced another stirring comeback one week after the 3-2 defeat at Manchester City to draw level at 2-2 only for Dominik Szoboszlai to fire the Reds back ahead with ten minutes left.

That looked set to be the winning goal but Leeds yet again responded as Ao Tanaka slammed home a 96th-minute equaliser to seal a 3-3 draw which Calvert-Lewin described as “crazy”.

The striker, though, declared that his team’s display had again showed what the Whites can do against top level opposition, providing further proof after Wednesday night’s 3-1 win against Chelsea.

"Crazy game, crazy game,” said Calvert-Lewin to post match media, as quoted by Leeds United’s official website.

“I think today was the epitome of what we're about and especially at home at Elland Road.

"I know we've come away with a point and I think considering the circumstances, no doubt, to come back the way we did, we have proved to a lot of people what we are capable of today.

"It was tough.

“It was a tough shift Wednesday night and we got the reward. We knew today was going to be a different test and equally as tough, so we had to be bang at it from the start.

"I think we were disappointed the way we came out in the second half. You have got to be, considering the first half, but again, it speaks for itself.

"I can feel the buzz, but it is important not to get carried away. It has been a big week and we knew at the start it was going to be a tough test. We have come away with four points out of the three games.

"I think we have to be pleased with that, considering the opponents, and just use it. Use it. Everything is something to learn from. Everything is a lesson."
