FA Cup fourth round draw in full as Leeds United discover opponents and fixture dates
Leeds United learned of their FA Cup fourth round opponents overnight.
Leeds United will face Championship opposition for a third time this season having been drawn against Birmingham City in the FA Cup fourth round.
Daniel Farke’s side booked their place in Monday evening’s draw after beating Derby County 3-1 at Pride Park on Sunday. Goals from Willy Gnonto, Ao Tanaka and James Justin capped off a professional second-half performance in which Ben Brereton Diaz’s opener was rendered little more than a consolation.
Leeds were ball number 18 in the draw and actually came out last, following Birmingham City which means they will head to St. Andrew’s for their fourth round tie. It will be the third time Farke’s side have faced second-tier opposition, having beaten Derby on Sunday and lost to Sheffield Wednesday on penalties in the Carabao Cup back in August.
Birmingham are currently 14th in the Championship, having come up from League One last season. The Midlands club beat Cambridge United 3-2 in the third round, although they received a scare having conceded twice late on after going 3-0 up.
Fourth round ties have been pencilled in for the weekend between Friday, February 13 and Monday, February 16. Of course, which day Leeds play depends on whether they are selected for TV broadcast, with fixtures likely taking place across the full four days.
For Leeds, their game will come between a midweek trip to Chelsea on Tuesday, February 10, and a weekend game at Aston Villa on Saturday, February 21.
