Leeds United stepover chuckles, pro ball boy and Fulham 'crime' punished - off-camera moments

Leeds United presented yet more evidence that they are a problem for the Premier League at Elland Road with their win over Fulham.

The Whites restricted a very good and in-form Fulham side to an xG of 0.39, while making more than enough chances to be considered worthy victors. It might have taken a late goal but Leeds were by far the more dangerous side and once more made life really difficult for a visiting team at an Elland Road that played a full part in the second half push for a winner. Here's the YEP take.

Good day

Gabriel Gudmundsson: The Swede is so good at turning awkward situations into comfortable ones. That's what he did a couple of times early on against Fulham and his performance flourished from there. Okay he probably should have scored with his big chance but he did everything else with such a high level that he can be forgiven, especially because Leeds won. Of all the summer signings he's the one you would think clubs higher up the table would be sniffing around this summer. Has the potential to become a real hero at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke: Not for the first time this season his substitutions worked and worked well. Leeds going for it late on says so much about where they are now, compared with where they were. They're hungry for points and a problem for any team coming to Elland Road. Farke got the right mix of direct play and passing football from his players again in the second half, all underpinned with control that came from defensive organisation. Fulham were kept at bay for the entire second half and allowed to create little all afternoon.

Brenden Aaronson: Not so long ago, if Aaronson had missed that first half chance the anger around Elland Road would have been palpable. But he has earned a different kind of response with his recent displays and goals. The ovation when he came off spoke volumes. The American has been a different proposition entirely in the last several weeks and the fans more than appreciate it.

Bad day

Marco Silva: The Fulham boss was hopping mad on the touchline all afternoon, as he often can be. If it wasn't the officials it was his own team. Silva made no bones about the result and felt his team got what they deserved for failing to win duels and be aggressive enough in attack.

Harry Wilson: The Welsh international has gone on an absolute tear since Fulham's u-turn on selling him to Leeds. This season has seen him at his best in the Premier League when it comes to end product but he barely got a sniff at Elland Road.

The officials: Missing what would have been a yellow card for kicking the ball away, only to give one to Ethan Ampadu for a clear misunderstanding, was not a good look.

Off-camera moments

The family of Terry Yorath arriving ahead of tributes to the Elland Road legend prior to the game. Elland Road rose to its feet to applaud the Revie Boy and there were a couple of Wales flags on display in the East Stand as chants of 'only one Terry Yorath' rang out.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin having a nice moment with Antonios Lemonakis, formerly of Everton, during the warm up.

Harry Wilson comically booed by the West Stand and Kop as he trotted over to take Fulham's first corner, for the crime of not being sold to Leeds on deadline day.

The Fulham bench making representations to the fourth official as Ethan Ampadu dried the ball for his first long throw.

Pascal Struijk speaking to the linesman as they came off at the break about Lukic kicking the ball away unpunished, while on a yellow, in the first half. The Leeds defender pointed to Ethan Ampadu, who was in conversation with referee Christopher Kavanagh and had been booked for throwing the ball away having clearly though the whistle had gone for a Leeds free-kick.

The second half not getting underway immediately because some hard working groundstaff were still taking care of their beloved playing surface, unwittingly holding things up.

Willy Gnonto and Lukas Nmecha chuckling on the touchling after Ampadu found himself in a wing position and went at a defender with a stepover.

Nmecha doing the ball boy routine for Ampadu, fetching a towel and drying the ball for the long throw.

The referee showing Elland Road his watch as boos rang out for Jimenez' slow walk off in the 88th minute.
