Leeds United lose star man for Burnley and Spurs games as duo are in doubt with fresh issues
Daniel Farke revealed a few Leeds United fitness issues on Thursday.
Leeds United have lost one star man for Friday's clash with relegated Burnley and there are question marks over two others.
Gabriel Gudmundsson was forced to stop running in the final few minutes of Leeds' FA Cup semi-final defeat by Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, having clutched the back of his leg. Boss Daniel Farke confirmed in the post-match press conference that the Swede had picked up a hamstring issue. That problem will sideline the left wing-back for at least two games, starting with Friday's vital clash with already-relegated Burnley.
"Hamstring injury, bit of a serious injury," said Farke on Wednesday afternoon. "He will definitely miss the game on Friday and probably the Tottenham game and then we have to see. We want to bring him back as quickly as possible and I hope he can feature in one of the last two games but as it stands we'll have to play the next two without him."
Ilia Gruev is out for the remainder of the season after damaging the meniscus in his knee. The Bulgarian midfielder is expected back in time for pre-season. Farke has two other doubts for Friday's game after the FA Cup semi-final. Noah Okafor, who has been a star man in attack of late, and centre-back Jaka Bijol are not guaranteed to feature against the Clarets.
"Noah Okafor got a hit on his calf, there's a little question mark," said Farke. "Jaka Bijol is dealing with some problems with his hip flexor. I hope to have both available but I can't tell you if they will be."
