"Exceptional" - Former Leeds United star hails incoming new Whites man with prediction

A former Leeds United star has hailed an incoming Whites star.

Former Leeds United star Robert Snodgrass has hailed an incoming new Whites player with an exciting prediction.

Wales international winger Harry Wilson looked set to join Leeds from Fulham last summer on transfer window deadline day only for the move to fall apart as the Cottagers pulled the plug in the final throes of the evening.

Wilson, though, sees his Fulham contract expire this summer and the 29-year-old has now agreed a move to Elland Road ahead of United’s second season back in the Premier League.

Leeds faced stiff competition for Wilson who enjoyed an exceptional 2025-26 campaign but the winger just needs to complete his medical and paperwork to become the first new Elland Road arrival of the transfer window.

Speaking to talkSPORT BET Sportsbook, Snodgrass saluted United’s move for Wilson with a prediction about his style of play would particularly benefit the Whites.

"Harry Wilson is an exceptional talent and would have had a host of teams trying to sign him,” said Snodgrass.

“He is that sort of inside-right with great ability. I think it would be a statement signing because Leeds play with their full-backs high, and he would complement them by coming inside and doing his work inside the park.

"He was a breath of fresh air last season with some of his goals and performances. I saw Craig Bellamy speak about what a top talent he is. He will be a great addition and a great signing for Leeds.

"I think the goal for Leeds was always to come back bigger, better, and stronger, learning from the mistakes of the last time they were up.

"They need to get cemented in the Premier League and try to kick on. They had some great performances in the latter stages to stay up and looked quite comfortable in the end."
