Big boost as Leeds United ace makes full return from injury with international outing

A Leeds United ace is now back from injury with a first senior outing in three months.
United’s Bulgarian international midfielder Ilia Gruev was becoming increasingly involved in the second half of last season but Gruev saw his season ended early after suffering a meniscus knee injury towards the end of April.
Gruev was ruled out for the rest of the season but was expected to be back for pre-season.
The midfielder was then named in United’s travelling squad for the pre-season tour of America but Gruev did not feature in any of the friendlies and boss Daniel Farke said earlier this month that Gruev still needed a bit more time before being considered for selection.
Gruev, though, bagged minutes for United’s under-21s just before the international break and then made the bench for United’s last game before the extended break at home to Crystal Palace.
The Bulgarian was an unused substitute against the Eagles but the midfielder then flew out on international duty and the 26-year-old now returns to the starting line up as his side host Luxembourg on Saturday evening in a Nations League clash (kick-off 5pm).
