"A little bit sorry" - Jaka Bijol's incredible message for Leeds United's fans with lesson and Whites need

Jaka Bijol has delivered an incredible message for Leeds United’s fans.

New Whites star Jaka Bijol has delivered a message for Leeds United’s incredible fans, declaring himself “a little bit sorry” with a lesson to learn from and must.

Slovenian international summer signing Bijol was handed his tenth Premier League start in Sunday’s hosting of arch rivals Manchester United and the giant centre-back produced another impressive display as part of a three-man centre-back axis.

Several important interventions from the six-foot-two defender helped keep the Red Devils at bay as part of a goalless first half in which both sides had chances and Bijol’s efforts looked to have been key in laying the foundations to bag all three points.

With 62 minutes on the clock, Brenden Aaronson fired Daniel Farke’s Whites ahead to spark wild celebrations in the Elland Road stands yet Manchester United drew level just three minutes later through Matheus Cunha.

His strike ultimately denied Leeds a victory against their fiercest rivals - one that Bijol said he was “a little bit sorry” that his team could not provide for their “incredible” supporters.

The Slovenian also hopes that conceding just three minutes after scoring acts as a lesson to learn from, declaring the need to be more concentrated and compact after going ahead.

“Not only for the Manchester United game”

Speaking to LUTV, Bijol was asked how he found playing in the Elland Road atmosphere against the club’s fiercest rivals and said: “I was focused on the game. For sure our fans are always there for us, not only for the Manchester United game.

"It's always incredible to play here at Elland Road, it was fantastic again, I am just a little bit sorry that we didn't win at the end to make everyone a little bit more happy. But it is what it is, we take the point and we go forward."

Reflecting on the timing of the Red Devils equaliser, Bijol declared: “For sure, it's always the first minutes after the goal where you have to be a little bit more concentrated, a little bit more compact.

"We didn't do that. We conceded really quickly after the goal and at the end 1-1, we take it, we go forward.”
