Leeds United star gets fresh chance to continue strong form with international call and England look
A Leeds United star has a fresh chance to continue his strong form with an international call.
Thriving Leeds United defender Jaka Bijol has been given another chance to continue his strong recent form with a fresh international call.
Signed from Udinese last summer, towering centre-back Bijol enjoyed a particularly strong second half to his first season at Leeds, the defender starting United’s last nine games and playing every single minute of seven of them.
The heavily capped Slovenia international defender was then named in head coach Bostjan Cesar’s squad for June’s two international friendlies and Bijol played every minute of Thursday evening’s 1-1 draw at home to Cyprus.
Slovenia take in their second June friendly on Sunday evening with an away clash against Croatia in a 7.45pm kick-off at Stadion Anđelko Herjavec in Varazdin.
The match will provide a chance for a last look at England’s first opponents at the World Cup ahead of the Three Lions facing Croatia in their group stage opener and Bijol has been given another chance to shine in again being selected to start.
