"I hope it's not broken" - Leeds United fresh injury blow in Arsenal loss with 'fear' and fresh Forest doubt

Leeds United suffered a fresh injury blow in Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal at Elland Road.

Whites boss Daniel Farke has revealed that Leeds United suffered a fresh injury blow in Saturday’s defeat to Arsenal which has left a star doubtful for Friday night’s visit of Nottingham Forest.

Summer signing James Justin continued his run of starts in the weekend’s visit of the Gunners despite left back Gabi Gudmundsson returning from injury as Sebastiaan Bornauw made way for Gudmundsson’s return.

That meant Justin moving into the centre of defence although the 27-year-old was one of two players taken off at the break along with Ilia Gruev as more attacking pair Sean Longstaff and Noah Okafor were introduced with Leeds 2-0 down.

Farke explained post-match that the changes were tactical yet the withdrawal of Justin was also enforced, Farke revealing that the defender had injured his toe which he hoped was not broken.

“There is a danger that something has happened”

Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds, Farke was asked if Leeds had suffered any new injuries and revealed: “Sadly James Justin, I had to substitute him at half-time because he had pain with his toe.

"I hope it's not broken anyhow but there is a danger that something has happened. We have to assess him so there is a fear.

"All the others I think came through without any problems so I hope at least as far as I am aware there are no major doubts and then we will see in terms of the other players who were not available for today.

"Let's see what happens during the week but James Justin will be a doubt."
