Leeds United keeper James Trafford was handed just a third start for England in Saturday evening’s Nations League clash against Spain for which Whites no 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin came off the bench.
But how did the national media rate the Leeds pair and what did the YEP think?
The club’s record signing and new no 1 Trafford was handed a start in Saturday evening’s Nations League clash at home to world champions Spain which got off to a horrible beginning as a mistake from Marc Guehi let in Lamine Yamal to fire the visitors ahead inside the second minute.
England recovered to lead 2-1 at the interval thanks to goals from Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane but Kane then crashed a penalty against the crossbar as he looked to put the Three Lions 3-1 up after the break.
The miss proved costly, Alex Baena drawing Spain level on the hour mark and Mikel Oyarzabal firing home the winner 16 minutes from time, Trafford beaten by three clinical finishes for all three goals.
Whites no 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin was brought on to replace Kane for the final seven minutes but there were no further goals as Spain kept an incredible run going with a 3-2 success.
