Leeds United star struggling in Daniel Farke's pre-Bournemouth team news but boosts as pair return

Leeds United team news for the weekend’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

Whites boss Daniel Farke has provided his Leeds United team news for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth ahead of which Anton Stach is struggling but with positives updates on a key quartet.

Stach (foot), Dominic Calvert-Lewin (foot) and Noah Okafor (adductor) were all injury doubts for last Sunday’s clash at Sunderland but all three made quick returns against the Black Cats, Calvert-Lewin starting the contest in which Stach and Okafor were brought on as second-half substitutes.

That left Joe Rodon (hamstring) as the only player out injured although a new blow saw Swiss international centre-back Nico Elvedi miss the trip to the Stadium of Light through illness.

Elvedi had started United’s last five league games and the centre-back was replaced by Jaka Bijol who played the full duration of a goalless draw.

Rodon, meanwhile, has been edging towards a return from the serious hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw at home to Brentford at the end of August, the defender thought to be looking at eight to ten weeks out.

Farke confirmed ahead of last weekend’s trip to Sunderland that Rodon was still out despite making good progress in his rehab.

This weekend’s clash at Bournemouth arrives nine weeks on from Rodon suffering his injury against the Bees, Farke holding his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the weekend’s trip to the south coast.

Farke confirmed that Elvedi had recovered from his illness and was back available for selection and that Calvert-Lewin and Okafor had trained as normal this week.

The Whites boss also revealed that Rodon had now been part-integrated back into team training but that this weekend’s trip to Bournemouth would come too soon.

Farke, though, also revealed that Stach was still struggling with his foot injury and that there was a question mark about his availability.

Farke said: “Good team news. Nico is way better, back in training and available. Good week for Dominic and Noah, also available if nothing happens. Anton Stach is struggling a bit with foot injury. Hope it will get better but a question mark. Also Joe Rodon yesterday part-integrated back in team training, just needs session after session but better than last week.”
