Leeds United supporting key Norway figure's brave message after World Cup exit to England

A Leeds United supporting key Norway figure’s message after Saturday’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to England.

The Leeds United supporting Prime Minister of Norway has issued a brave message following his country’s World Cup quarter-final defeat to England which meant disappointment for many Whites fans.

Leeds have a huge following in Norway and Scandinavia which stems back to the club’s glory days under Don Revie and the country’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store himself supports the Whites.

‘The pride bigger than ever’

Like many Leeds and Norway fans, Store was quietly confident going into Saturday evening’s quarter-final against England in Miami but Thomas Tuchel’s Three Lions eventually sealed their place in the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory after extra-time thanks to a Jude Bellingham brace.

Taking to his Instagram page, Store wrote: “Thank you Norway! The World Cup adventure is over, but the pride bigger than ever. A brave national team that showed that almost anything is possible, giving us unforgettable moments, world-class gameplay and a community that brought the whole world together.”
