Leeds United latest news: Dominic Calvert-Lewin's chance of an England start as Thomas Tuchel sends message to James Trafford
The latest Leeds United news and updates including international wins for three stars.
Leeds United’s international stars continue to represent their nations this week as we approach the halfway point of the extended break.
It’s been nine days since the Whites drew 0-0 at home to Crystal Palace and it will be another 11 before they travel to Arsenal on Saturday October 10. In the meantime, the best part of a dozen first-team players are away with their countries.
Three Leeds stars were in action on Monday, with Tarik Muharemovic the standout. He scored for Bosnia and Herzegovina in a 4-2 Nations League win at Romania as part of a brilliant all-round performance from the 23-year-old.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Gudmundsson played 90 minutes for Sweden in a 3-1 win against Poland, having been on the bench for their opener against Romania. Earlier this week the Leeds left-back insisted his body was ready after coming through a disrupted early season due to injury.
They were the two competitive matches involving Leeds players yesterday, with another in friendly action. Ao Tanaka was introduced at half-time to help Japan fight back from a goal down to win 2-1 - scoring late for the second game running.
A number of Tanaka’s Leeds teammates will hope to represent their countries later today. The most notable are James Trafford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose England side face Czechia in Prague this evening.
Trafford is expected to start in goal for the second game running, with manager Thomas Tuchel revealing last weekend he’d split goalkeeping duties. The Leeds man started against Spain and should do tonight, with Everton’s Jordan Pickford coming in for the other two.
Nico Elvedi’s Switzerland travel to Scotland while Jaka Bijol will be in action when Slovenia host North Macedonia. Ilia Gruev’s Bulgaria host Estonia while Jean-Matteo’s France face the same nation, albeit at Under-21 level.
Stay tuned for the latest Leeds United news and updates throughout the day...
