Strong call made on Leeds United vs Liverpool friendly in Chicago as star trio return

Leeds United take on Liverpool in Chicago on Sunday in the club’s final friendly of their USA tour.

A strong call has been made on Leeds United’s final pre-season friendly of their USA tour against Liverpool for which a star trio are returning.

Daniel Farke’s Whites face new boss Andoni Iraola’s Reds at Soldier Field in Chicago today in a 3pm kick-off local time which means a 9pm start in the UK.

Leeds are approaching the contest following their first victory of the summer from Friday morning’s friendly against Sunderland in which an early Lukas Nmecha strike from long range sealed a 1-0 victory for Farke’s side.

The bookies, though, strongly fancy Liverpool to subject Leeds to a second defeat in America amid confirmation that three Reds stars are returning for Iraola’s side.

Iraola has confirmed that Ryan Gravenberch, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz will all feature for the first time this summer following their World Cup exploits and the bookies have made the Reds short odds-on favourites to beat the Whites.

Bet365 have made the Reds 13-20 favourites with Leeds available at 11-4 and the draw on offer at 31-10.

Following the confirmation that he will feature, Reds striker Alexander Isak is favourite in the any time scorer market at 5-6, followed by 18-year-old forward Will Wright at 11-8 and Federico Chiesa at 6-4.

Whites no 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin is next at 13-8, followed by three more Reds men in youngsters Rio Ngumoha (7-4) and Lewis Koumas (15-8) and then Dominik Szoboszlai (13-8).
