Leeds United 'major doubt' and slight doubt ahead of Crystal Palace despite training return photos

Leeds United have one slight doubt and one major doubt ahead of their trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin sat out the FA Cup win over Norwich City at Elland Road last Sunday, having experienced a slight issue with his knee. Noah Okafor, meanwhile, has missed the last four games with a hamstring problem. Both men were pictured in club photos back in training at Thorp Arch this week, but it’s not as straightforward as it might have looked.

“Two doubts for this game,” said Daniel Farke on Friday. “Dominic was obviously out for a few days, he was back in team training but I'm carefully optimistic he'll be available. There's still a doubt [over] how he reacts. He had some problems with his knees but we’ll make a late call.

“Noah was the first time back in team training, today he missed out through some reported issues with his hips. He's definitely a major doubt. Doubtful but carefully optimistic Dominic, major doubt with Noah. Due to the fact he was out today with his hip it's very doubtful he's available for the weekend.”

Farke had a couple of players struggling with illness at the start of the week but reports that they have now recovered. And he’s satisfied that across his squad sufficient players have started games to give him options ahead of Crystal Palace on Sunday, even if Okafor will be a ‘major miss.’

“Noah was excellent before his injury,” said Farke. “He was a major miss but you have to adapt to the reality. You have to find some solutions. When I have a look at my squad, over the season more or less everyone has started games and chipped in. There are periods when this centre-back or this wing-back or midfielder is playing, they've all started. It's always possible we mix things up.”
