More Leeds subs

Meslier save
73: Shot from distance easily saved
Another Leeds chance
66: Piroe again the creator but after a good block from Gudmundsson. Plays in Ramazani, one on one in from the left, shot looking for the opposite corner saved by Heaton.
Piroe again
Lovely ball again through for Ramazani and it looks like a golden chance but offside - perhaps playing in James earlier was the pass. Meslier out to thwart a loose ball at the other end beforehand.
Another chance Leeds
57: Corner falls to Tanaka at the far post, thrashes at it and wide, good chance gone.
Good chance Leeds, best yet
57: Fine play by Piroe on the edge of the box, plays in Bogle who is in one on one from the right, low shot saved and behind for a corner.
Better from Leeds

Good defending from the new boy

Back underway
Dan James straight into the thick of it, buzzing about near the corner flag down the right wing.
A raft of subs

Half time report
0-0. Leeds more possession, Man Utd more of a threat - in a nutshell.
Leeds made a strong start, seeing plenty of the ball and dictating the game in the early stages. However, the Whites were unable to fashion a clearcut chance and Jayden Bogle's cross which just evaded onrushing new striker Lukas Nmecha was about the best it got.
Manchester United initially offered very little apart from the odd flash of trickery from new £62.5m signing Matheus Cunha as new Whites centre-back Jaka Bijol looked particularly solid in the new-look back line next to Joe Rodon.
But despite plenty of Leeds possession and particularly bright play from Bogle and Wily Gnonto it was Manchester United who ended the half with the best chance of the game before being denied by he crossbar.
The very bright Chido Obi had earlier sent a weak header wide and also seen another shot from the left of the box easily saved by Whites keeper Karl Darlow.
But two minutes before the interval, clever play from Amad Diallo teed up Obi who spun away from Rodon on the edge of the box before flashing a low shot just wide of the left hand post with Darlow rooted.
Then, in the sole minute of injury time, a seemingly harmless cross from Casemiro took a big deflection off Whites captain Ethan Ampadu before dropping on to the bar only for Leeds to clear their lines.
Leeds United v Manchester United: Darlow, Byram, Bijol, Rodon, Bogle, Ampadu, Gruev, Tanaka, Harrison, Gnonto, Nmecha. Subs: Meslier, Cairns, Mahady, Gudmundsson, Struijk, James, Longstaff, Piroe, Ramazani, Bornauw, Chambers, Gray, Chadwick, Crew.
Off the bar Man Utd
45: Cross from Casemiro deflects off Ampadu and hits the bar, then cleared
Best chance yet - very close for Man Utd
43: Lovely play by Amad to tee up Obi who spins away from Rodon on the edge of the box and fires a first time low shot just wide of the left hand post with Darlow rooted. Leeds come back but Gnonto is offside. One minute added time.
Bogle again
41: Brilliant footwork on the touchline to work space from nothing, albeit Man Utd then win the ball back. Game drifting towards half time,
Almost
35: Neat play by Bogle - again - very close to sliding in Nmecha. Back come Man Utd but Amad blazes wide under pressure from Bijol.
Man Utd chance
34: Suddenly all a bit desperate at the back but Leeds get it clear, shot from Obi down the left of the box saved by Darlow who then comes haring out to clear another ball into the box. Obi has looked the main Man Utd threat,
Jaka Bijol
29: Has looked very solid already - praise for him on LUTV by Tony Dorigo who says he has always stood out when watching him for Torino. Leeds have been good, just missing a bit of creativity/threat. Bogle has been very bright - and Gnonto. Harrison - pretty quiet - has a chance to cross from the left but ball spins away to safety. Rodon then fouls the tricky Amad.
Sore one
26: For Nmecha, gets a whack in the back from De Ligt as he looks to hold the ball up, goes straight down to ground and looks injured but is helped up and seems okay. Now a drinks break.
Clumsy defending
22: From De Ligt as he tries to clear a cross, gets in a muddle and handball appeals but it hit his chest.
Trickery
19: From Wily Gnonto, lovely spin on the ball to get out of a tight spot on the touchline. Bright stuff from Leeds but no real chances, Bogle’s run and cross the best it has got so far.
Neat play by Leeds
16: Gnonto released by Tanaka after good play by Rodon and Gnonto running at at the back line and Casemiro takes him down. Free kick wasted. Strong defending then by Byram at the other end.
Tanaka more advanced now
10: Gruev and Ampadu have now settled a bit more as the deeper centre midfielders, Tanaka almost as the no 10 but it’s more like a 4-3-3. Cunha then wins another free-kick - fouled by Tanaka this time. Weak Obi header from the free-kick taken by Fernandez sails wide. Manchester United getting a bit more into it.
First bits from Cunha
9: Neat footwork to go by Ampadu who brings him down, came after more good Leeds possession, Tanaka played in down the right but cross dealt with
A few boos
For Harrison from the Leeds fans. Leeds dominating possession so far and dictating. Solid start.
CHANCE LEEDS!
4: Bogle gets away down the right, into the box from out wide, cross is deflected and scrambled away, bright play by him already. Cross only just missed Nmecha.
Positions
Nmecha upfront, Gnonto wide right, Harrison wide left. Gruev and Tanaka in centre midfield along with Ampadu who is a bit deeper - Gruev looks to be getting forward when he can. Brighter start from Leeds so far. Big header from Rodon to clear Leeds’ lines. Rodon and Bijol the centre backs, Bogle right back, Byram left back.
Underway
A minute’s silence for Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva beforehand. Manchester United with the kick-off.
