Is Newcastle United vs Leeds United on TV and why the 8.15pm kick-off? Coverage details, odd channel choice
Coverage details as Leeds United take on Premier League hosts Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Leeds United take on Newcastle United at St James’ Park tonight - but is the game on TV and what’s the reason for the very late kick-off?
Two of the division’s in-form sides will go head-to-head under the St James’ Park lights in an 8.15pm kick-off in a game which was announced as being picked for TV broadcast upon the selections being made for Match Rounds 18 to 21 at the end of October.
The contest had initially been listed as an 8pm kick-off but it was then announced that the fixture would kick-off at 8.15pm due to coverage on Sky Sports.
Sky Sports, though, are broadcasting eight Premier League games in one night this evening as part of showing every match of Game Week 21 on the box, explaining the kick-off time and also an odd channel choice.
Eight games on eight different channels
Five of the eight games being shown this evening are 7.30pm starts including the main pick of Manchester City vs Brighton which is on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
Fulham vs Chelsea is on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa is on Sky Sports + and Everton vs Wolves finds itself on Sky Sports Darts and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
As Sky Sports make the absolute most of their channels, Bournemouth vs Tottenham is on Sky Sports Golf with Brentford vs Sunderland on Sky Sports Tennis.
The Leeds match at Newcastle is then one of two 8.15pm kick-offs but the other one - Manchester United's trip to Burnley - is being put on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR.
Newcastle vs Leeds is therefore on Sky Sports Cricket. Coverage on the channel starts at 7pm.
