Leeds United loanee makes long-awaited top flight debut with four games left in the season

The business end of the season is providing mixed emotions for a number of Leeds United loanees but for one the campaign has just got started with four games remaining.

For one of Leeds' loanees in La Liga, the season is already over, cruelly cut short by an ACL injury. Mateo Joseph's stint with Mallorca has been a difficult one but at the very least it provided the game time he was after. The youngster started 19 league games and came off the bench a further 10 times prior to his injury, scoring only twice but adding four assists for the relegation battlers. Their top flight status hangs in the balance with five games remaining as they sit one point and one place above the drop zone.

For Largie Ramazani the end of the season might not come at a welcome time because he has finally broken into the Valencia starting XI and made himself at home. The winger had not started a game prior to mid February but has been ever-present on the team sheet since then, starting 10 games in a row. He has scored five goals in that time and four of those contributed to victories to keep them five points above the relegation zone.

In the Bundesliga, Max Wober's season is finally off and running at Werder Bremen. The Austrian international had not played a single minute of 2025/26 league action due to a pair of injuries. A hamstring problem kept him out of 14 consecutive fixtures, he returned to sit on the bench for a single game and then missed another 14 with a fresh issue. At long last he made his Bundesliga debut with a 25-minute substitute cameo against Stuttgart on Sunday. The 28-year-old posted on social media that he had ‘waited so long’ for the moment to come. Werder Bremen sit 12th in the 18-team German top flight with games against Freiburg, Bayern Munich and St Pauli remaining.

Wober joined Leeds in January 2023 and signed a four-and-a-half-year contract at Elland Road that runs to the summer of 2027. He exercised a loan clause in his contract after relegation in 2023 and spent a season with Borussia Mönchengladbach. Last season he was back at Leeds but a pair of knee surgeries hampered his involvement in the Championship promotion battle and he concluded the campaign with just eight league appearances, two of which were starts. To date he has played just 28 times for the Whites and a summer exit feels inevitable.
