Leeds United summer transfer window target 'offered' to La Liga club with swift verdict after visit

A Leeds United transfer target has been told he is not what La Liga club Real Betis are looking for, despite a training ground visit by his dad.

Julian Brandt is a player Leeds would like to bring to Elland Road this summer, thanks in part to his vast experience and Champions League pedigree. The Germany international is a free agent with his contract up at Borussia Dortmund and assessing his options for next season.

Reports have suggested La Liga is one of Brandt's preferred destinations and his father and agent Jürgen Brandt has been pictured by Spanish media at the Luis del Sol Sports City, reportedly viewing Real Betis' facilities. El Correo de Andalucía report that Brandt has been offered to Real Betis but they do not see the attacking midfielder as a perfect fit for their current plans. Real Betis finished fifth in La Liga last season, earning a Champions League spot. A trio of ex-Leeds men, namely Junior Firpo, Diego Llorente and Marc Roca - all played a part in their league campaign.

Leeds meanwhile are expected to announce the already-agreed arrival of Harry Wilson in the coming days and defender Pascal Struijk is set for a move to Brighton.
