Leeds United relegation rival suffering 'very rare' injury, concussion and suspension woes

One of Leeds United's Premier League relegation rivals have 'a lot of problems' making a team to face a top-six side this weekend.

Leeds currently sit 15th, three points clear of the drop zone and two ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who are following last season's poor league campaign with another just like it.

They brought Igor Tudor in to replace Thomas Frank in February but the new man's record stands at four games, four defeats. On Sunday things could get even worse when they face sixth-placed Liverpool. And to make matters even harder for Tudor, he will be missing a pair of key players through concussion protocolss.

Both João Palhinha and Christian Romero are in Tottenham's top five players when it comes to minutes played this season. They, along with the suspended Micky van de Ven and the injured Yves Bissouma, will sit out the Anfield clash.

"No, no, no, they [Palhinha and Romero] are out. Micky is also out, Bissouma is out, for the muscles. Conor [Gallagher] has some fever but probably will be in. So, we have again a lot of problems to make first 11. This is how it is in this club, this happen all the time. We start to build something, then happens something, or a red card, or last game, or three or four injuries. This is very rare that happens in my career. I never see these situations. Every game, missing two players. The next game and a red card. It's very rare, very unusual, but we need to accept this. And try to change the things you can change. On these things you cannot do nothing."

Tudor was unable to give a concrete response on when Palhinha and Romero will return but hopes to either have them for the midweek Champions League game against Atletico Madrid or the following weekend's relegation battle with Nottingham Forest.

When asked about others on the injury list, including Destiny Udogie, Lucas Bergvall, Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski, the under-fire Croatian responded: "Destiny almost back. That's all."

Spurs have lost six games on the bounce and have not won a Premier League game since December 28. Leeds travel to Tottenham Stadium on May 9.
