Leeds United attacker's big declaration about Elland Road atmosphere in message for fans and personal game aim

A Leeds United attacker’s big declaration about the club’s fans.

Whites star Noah Okafor says Leeds United’s fans are creating the best atmosphere he’s ever experienced, the attacker issuing a message of thanks to supporters with a personal game aim.

Okafor joined Leeds having already played for two Italian giants in AC Milan and Napoli - the winger having spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan with Napoli before returning back to Milan.

Okafor, though, who signed for Leeds that summer, says the matchday atmosphere at Elland Road is the best he has experienced so far in his career, the Swiss star particularly saluting the club’s supporters for staying with their players through thick and thin.

Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, former Basel, RB Salzburg, AC Milan and Napoli ace Okafor was asked about United’s supporters and said: “For me this is the best atmosphere I played so far. It's crazy.

“They are just on you”

"I enjoy playing at home, I feel so nice, the feeling is so nice because the fans they support you, they are on you, it doesn't matter if you score or have a block or a tackle or a good action, they are just on you, especially the night games are so special here."

Okafor enjoyed a particularly impressive second half of his first season at Leeds last term, the winger’s brace in April’s 2-1 win against arch rivals Manchester United leading to a new chant about him being sung in the terraces.

“It gives you like an extra boost,” said Okafor of his chant. “It's really nice that the fans have a song.

"I am really enjoying it, I appreciate it and I'm also really thankful for the fans that they support us and also sometimes when you miss a chance because in football not every time it goes up, up, up and you can win all the time and score goals in every game. This is normal.

"Also for example when we have a period where you miss some chances or you lose a game or something like this, they are still supporting you and still behind you. I think this is important as a fan because then like this then you can enjoy even more when you have success. Together you can enjoy it or celebrate more so a big, big hug and love for the fans."

Asked what he was still trying to add to his game, Okafor declared: “I think maybe be a little bit more aggressive in front of the goal. I think this. But otherwise I'm quite happy with my game.”
