"It feels like" - Noah Okafor on Leeds United being third, exciting plan and personal declaration about Whites
Noah Okafor on Leeds United’s start to the season and life at Elland Road.
Noah Okafor says it’s too early to read too much into Leeds United being third - yet ultimately the clear intent is to now get even better.
Now in his second year with the Whites, Swiss winger Okafor bagged his first goal of the season in Monday night’s hosting of Newcastle United in which a hugely impressive 4-1 victory sent Leeds third in the very early Premier League table.
Daniel Farke’s men remain unbeaten after four games of the new Premier League season, the Whites having taken eight points from their first four games, a tally only bettered by Arsenal and Manchester City after their perfect 12-point starts.
Okafor says it’s still too early to say too much about United’s impressive early league position but the winger says his club’s fans can certainly enjoy it.
Excitingly, Okafor says ultimately the aim is to now get even better ahead of Sunday’s visit of Crystal Palace, the winger saluting an “unbelievable” mood and “incredible” energy at Leeds in a glowing personal verdict of the club.
“It feels like a family here. The energy is incredible”
"The mood is unbelievable,” said Okafor to LUTV.
"It feels like a family here. It's my home. The energy is incredible. I love every day, I wake up with a smile so it just makes it really, really fun to be part of this team.
"A big, big compliment for each and everyone, we just have to keep moving forward and take it game by game and training by training."
Pressed for an early assessment of Leeds being third, Okafor smiled: "Of course the fans can enjoy this.
"We worked hard for this, it's a big compliment, but it's too early to say.
"We just have to keep the ball grounded, keep working hard and take game by game moving forward and then work to be even better in the next games."
