Very strong Leeds United call made on Norwich City FA Cup clash amid big Canaries development

Leeds United face one of the Championship’s most in-form sides in Norwich City for a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

A very strong Leeds United call has been made on Sunday’s fifth round FA Cup clash at home to Norwich City amid recent developments with Philippe Clement’s visitors.

Daniel Farke’s Whites take another break from the club’s quest for Premier League survival with Sunday’s 4.30pm kick-off against Norwich who sit 17th in the Championship table and just ten points clear of the dropzone.

The Canaries also have an absolute stack of players out injured but Clement’s men are actually one of the Championship’s most in-form sides and sit top of the division’s form table over the last nine games with 21 points out of a possible 27.

Norwich endured an awful start to the season under former boss Liam Manning who was sacked in November, the club then turning to former Rangers, Monaco and Club Brugges boss Clement.

Under Clement, the team have undoubtedly developed into one of the division’s better sides, especially considering the injuries.

Over four hours without conceding

Norwich have won nine of their last 11 games in league and cup and the Canaries have also gone well over four hours without conceding a goal, Birmingham City’s early two strikes for their 2-1 win at Carrow Road followed by back-to-back clean sheets in victories against Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City.

Whites boss Daniel Farke also seems likely to make significant changes to his team but the bookies have still made a very strong Leeds call in making the Whites very strong odds-on favourites to win inside 90 minutes to book their place in the last eight.

Leeds are approaching the game following back-to-back 1-0 home defeats to Manchester City and Sunderland but the bookies think that Sunday’s game will be a different story, Farke’s men no bigger than 10-21 to win in normal time and as short as 4-11 with some firms.

Norwich can be backed at a very big 6-1 to leave Elland Road with a normal time victory and the draw is on offer at just short of 4-1 at 15-4.

Despite uncertainty as to whether he will even start, Whites no 9 Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a red hot favourite in the anytime scorer market at a best-priced evens, followed by Lukas Nmecha at 33-20 and then Joel Piroe at 9-5.

The bookies see either a 1-0 Leeds win, 2-1 success or 2-0 triumph as equally likely, those outcomes all 15-2 in the correct score market. A 1-1 draw is next at 8s.

Leeds, though, are eye-wateringly short at 2-9 to go through, Norwich available at 7-2 to cause a shock and put themselves into the quarter-finals.
