Leeds United ultimately had to settle for a point against Manchester United and it’s led to a big Whites change in the club’s relegation odds and bookies’ predicted final Premier League table.
Daniel Farke’s Whites went into Sunday’s Roses derby having received two boosts without even kicking a ball via Saturday defeats for third-bottom West Ham and fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest.
West Ham’s season hit a new low as they suffered a 3-0 loss at rock-bottom Wolves who were finally bagging their first win of the Premier League season at the 20th time of asking.
Forest had earlier fallen to a 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa in the day’s lunchtime kick-off.
The results provided fifth-bottom Leeds with the opportunity to kick even further clear and Farke’s side put themselves on course for a full three-point haul against the Red Devils as Brenden Aaronson fired them infront.
Leeds were heading ten points clear of third-bottom West Ham, six points clear of fourth-bottom Forest and even above Bournemouth into 15th place. That all changed though as Matheus Cunha equalised just three minutes later, his goal ultimately ensuring the contest ended in a 1-1 draw.
After 20 games played, it’s all left fifth-bottom Leeds eight points clear of third-bottom West Ham, four points ahead of fourth-bottom Forest and just one point behind 15th-placed Bournemouth. There is then another four point gap up to 13th-placed Tottenham Hotspur and 14th-placed Crystal Palace.
At the bottom, West Ham are two points ahead of second-bottom Burnley who are ten points behind Leeds. Wolves now find themselves on six points but still 12 points adrift of safety and 16 points behind Farke’s Whites who ultimately still boosted their survival prospects despite the disappointment of seeing three points become one against the Red Devils.
It’s all led to a new predicted final table from the bookies based on the relegation odds and a big Leeds change on that front. Using odds for the title to determine sides expected to finish in the top half, here is the full new rundown.
