Leeds United are heading for Sunday’s trip to Sunderland sat six points clear of the dropzone and with a new Whites and Nottingham Forest change in Opta’s fresh predicted final table and points.
Daniel Farke’s Whites kicked six points clear of third-bottom West Ham with last weekend’s superb 4-1 win at home to Crystal Palace in a perfect early Christmas present for the club’s fans.
West Ham had suffered a 3-0 defeat at Manchester City earlier in the afternoon, providing Leeds with the opportunity to kick clear which Farke’s side took full advantage of.
Victory against Palace also saw Leeds leapfrog Nottingham Forest who dropped to 17th place and one point behind the Whites ahead of their Monday night clash at Fulham.
Sean Dyche’s Forest side then suffered the fresh blow of a 1-0 defeat at Fulham, all of which left Leeds fifth-bottom ahead of the post-Christmas return to action.
Data experts Opta previously had Forest finishing three points ahead of Leeds in their predicted final table and points which has now been revised ahead of Game Week 18.
Here, in reverse order, is the full new rundown including big calls on second-bottom Burnley, bottom-of-the-table Wolves and also a slipping Bournemouth side.
