Philippe Clement makes incredibly bold claim with Leeds United declaration ahead of Norwich City FA Cup test

Philippe Clement has served up Leeds United praise as he takes his Norwich City side to Elland Road for Sunday’s FA Cup clash.

Norwich City boss Phillipe Clement has served up big Leeds United praise ahead of Sunday’s fifth round FA Cup clash at Elland Road with a Whites match memory but incredibly bold Canaries claim.

Former Rangers, Monaco and Club Brugge boss Clement was appointed Norwich’s new head coach in November after Liam Manning was sacked and his Canaries team are now one of the Championship’s most in-form sides.

Despite sitting 17th in the actual table, Norwich are top of the Championship’s form table taken over the last nine games, Clement’s men having also won nine of their last 11 in league and cup.

That run has included FA Cup victories against Walsall and West Brom, setting up Sunday’s fifth round visit to Premier League outfit Leeds, ahead of which Clement has made a very bold claim.

On the back of Norwich’s impressive recent run of results, Clement says he believes that his men are now capable of beating every team in the world on their day.

The Canaries, though, are ultimately still seen as big underdogs for Sunday’s clash at Leeds whom Clement served up praise for as he recalled facing the Whites as Monaco boss in a mid-season friendly of December 2022 at Elland Road.

“Even then the stadium was full”

"Big challenge, good team, big club, big fan base,” declared Clement of the Whites, as quoted by Pink Un.

“I know the club already from the past. I played it also one time in a friendly with Monaco, and even then the stadium was full.

"So that was a good experience, and for us as a club, as for the squad, also, it's a really good challenge. Leeds is doing really good things in Premier League.

"For the moment, it looks like they're out of the relegation zone battle there.

"It's good to compete at that level and to see how our players can perform at that level.

"I believe against every opponent that on one day we can win against every team in the world. I believe that, and I think my players believe that also now.”
