Graham Smyth's Leeds United player ratings vs Everton with 'storming' 8/10, raft of 7s

Leeds United were unable to successfully defend their first-half lead at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with the spoils shared.

Leeds United were unable to enjoy a rare away win at Everton after giving up their lead to draw 1-1 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. James Justin’s first-half effort was cancelled out by Thierno Barry as Daniel Farke’s side took another point on the road but failed to claim all three.

After riding an early spell of Everton pressure Leeds kicked on and were rewarded just before the half-hour mark, with Justin meeting Anton Stach’s cross to open the scoring from close range. Dominic Calvert-Lewin then struck the post minutes later as Farke’s side dominated without being able to double their first-half lead.

Leeds invited pressure from their hosts after the break and allowed Everton to build momentum, with Barry punishing them with an equaliser on 76 minutes after substitute Ao Tanaka was unable to block a cross. The Toffees continued to enjoy the better chances but having been rocked for so long, Farke’s side kept the scoreline level to earn another away point.

YEP chief football writer Graham Smyth was at the Hill Dickinson Stadium to watch the action. Here are his Leeds United player ratings...
