Leeds United’s first appearance in an FA Cup semi-final for 39 years ultimately ended in a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Wembley - but how did we rate the performances?
Leeds threatened inside 30 seconds as Noah Okafor burst forward but the real early Whites chance fell to Brenden Aaronson who got himself in on goal from a counter only to see keeper Robert Sanchez save his shot and send it wide.
It proved a costly miss, Chelsea going ahead with 24 minutes on the clock through an Enzo Fernandez header after Pascal Struijk had lost the ball in his own half.
The defender was dispossessed by Joao Pedro worked the ball out wide to Pedro Neto and Neto's precise cross picked out Fernandez who headed home a clinical finish.
Leeds were then saved by the frame of the goal as a fierce strike from Joao Pedro smashed back off the post, the Blues taking a 1-0 lead into the break.
The Whites improved after the interval with substitute Anton Stach going close and Dominic Calvert-Lewin also saw a header saved but the Fernandez first-half header proved the only goal of the game.
Graham Smyth, the YEP’s chief football writer, hands out the scores from more Leeds heartbreak at Wembley.
