Leeds United came from behind to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to five games with a 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Sunday. Dominic Calvert-Lewin cancelled out Simon Adingra’s opener shortly after half-time to earn his side another decent point on the road.
A fairly even start to the game leaned Sunderland’s way on 28 minutes with Adingra curling an effort into Lucas Perri’s far corner, having been played onside by the injured Joe Rodon who was eventually forced off. Brenden Aaronson came close to equalising after a great Calvert-Lewin knockdown but his effort was cleared off the line by Trai Hume.
The pair combined again shortly after half-time and on this occasion it was successful, with Calvert-Lewin finishing Aaronson’s cross to round off a brilliant move from front to back. Leeds piled on the pressure after that equaliser but couldn’t find a second, with Sunderland also unable to source a winner and the spoils shared.
