Leeds United will face a major test of their promotion credentials when they face current Championship leaders Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Friday night.
Nobody will need to tell Daniel Farke and his players what they will face in the North East as Regis Le Bris’ side look to continue their own fine start to the season and land a major blow on a promotion rival. Their should be confidence in the Black Cats ranks after they won their first four home league games without conceding a goal.
From Leeds point of view, they remain unbeaten on the road this season with two wins and two draws from their four away fixtures - but a number of injuries have hit the Whites squad ahead of the trip to Wearside and left Daniel Farke with some major calls to make over his starting eleven. It was revealed on Thursday night that Ilia Gruev was facing an extended period out of action after injuring his knee against Norwich City in midweek.
That news came after Ethan Ampadu joined a growing injury list. Below we look at who could start a crucial clash in the race for promotion to the Premier League.
