Leeds United will look to make it eight unbeaten in the Premier League when they face Newcastle United at St James’ Park on Wednesday. The Whites have improved away from home, with draws at Brentford and Sunderland, but face a Magpies side who haven’t lost in front of their own support since September.
Daniel Farke suggested one of Jayden Bogle or Joe Rodon could be involved on Wednesday, having returned to individual training this week following calf and ankle injuries respectively. But there would be obvious concerns over starting either, given their absences and likely lack of match sharpness, while Sean Longstaff is also not yet ready to start.
Ethan Ampadu’s return from suspension will provide a welcome boost but elsewhere, Farke has a few decisions to make based on form and fitness, with Newcastle the third game in seven days. Below, the YEP has attempted to predict how Leeds might line up at St James’ Park.

2. GK: Lucas Perri
Farke was critical of the goalkeeper for his role on Matheus Cunha's equaliser but said on Thursday goalkeeper rotation is not a topic. Could do with a top performance to build confidence. | Michael Regan/Getty Images

3. CB: Sebastiaan Bornauw
Another relatively quick turnaround for the Belgian, who's gone from not starting a Premier League game all season to potentially starting three in seven days. Has been dependable in the absence of Joe Rodon, who remains a major doubt with an ankle injury. | AFP via Getty Images

4. CB: Jaka Bijol
Physically dominated another striker in Benjamin Sesko last weekend and looks to be getting better every week. Another stern test on the way, be it against Yoane Wissa or Nick Woltemade. | Getty Images

5. CB: Pascal Struijk
Relishing the opportunity to be aggressive and front-footed with two centre-back teammates to cover, and grabbed an unusual assist for Aaronson last weekend. Will once again need to get in the faces of Newcastle attackers. | AFP via Getty Images

6. RWB: James Justin
Jayden Bogle still a major doubt and away from home against an in-form Newcastle, Justin's defensive qualities might be preferred anyway. Will have his work cut out for him against Anthony Gordon but been brilliant since coming in. | Getty Images
