A Leeds United standout has been recognised for his efforts in defeat to Arsenal with a place in Troy Deeney’s Premier League Team of the Week. The Whites lost 2-1 at the home of the Premier League champions on Saturday but went toe-to-toe with Mikel Arteta’s side and can take a lot of positives from their performance.
After a goalless first-half, James Justin put Leeds ahead on 55 minutes with a thumping finish after a Gabriel Gudmundsson cross was fired right across the box. That away lead was deserved but short-lived, Arsenal going from 1-0 down to 2-1 ahead by the time the 70th minute had passed.
But Leeds caused Arsenal problems throughout while defending brilliantly for large parts, with one member of Farke’s squad making it into Deeney’s BBC Sport Team of the Week. Take a look below to see who he picked and why.
5. CB: James Justin (Leeds United)
Deeney said of the Leeds man: "I know he loves playing against Arsenal, but the transformation he has had from when he was at Leicester to Leeds - the ability to play right wing-back, right centre-back. Everything that he gives you in that situation, he's just a joke of a centre-back. I don't believe he gets anywhere near enough credit. An unbelievable goal and he could have had more on the day." | AFP via Getty Images
