Former Leeds United man emerges as frontrunner for newly-vacant top Rangers job
A former Leeds United man has emerged as the frontrunner for a newly-vacant top job.
Leeds United’s former director of football Victor Orta has emerged as the new favourite for a newly-vacant top Rangers job.
Orta spent six years with Leeds from May 2017 until the summer of 2023 before leaving the club for Sevilla upon United’s relegation back to the Championship.
Ex-Leeds man named favourite
Orta then left his position as Sevilla’s sports director in the summer and the 46-year-old is now the new favourite to become the new sporting director of SPL giants Rangers.
Kevin Thelwell was sacked on Monday after just six months in the position as part of big changes at the club as chief executive Patrick Stewart also departed.
Orta, out of work since leaving Sevilla, has now been made favourite to be named Thelwell’s successor.
